How You Contribute
The Residential Care Services Supervisor (RCSS) is an entry-level role responsible for delivering direct support to a designated patient demographic under the guidance and oversight of treatment professionals at the facility. RCSSs are trained to uphold a secure and healthy environment both within the facility and during community interactions. This position necessitates a readiness to learn, adhere to instructions, and collaborate effectively with treatment staff to address patient needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute various safety tasks throughout the facility, managing access points for staff and patients, and actively engaging with patients to monitor their welfare while implementing personalized de-escalation strategies and safety protocols.
- Contribute to care plans by providing insights into objectives developed by the treatment team, conducting regular rounds, wellness assessments, and overseeing medication distribution to ensure a safe and secure environment for all patients.
- Document detailed reports on various matters, interact with the public as necessary, and adhere to policies and procedures while working in a model that involves verbally guiding patients and providing supportive oversight during off-site activities.
- Monitor and assess environmental issues through inspections of equipment, systems, and physical structures, responding to emergencies alongside clinical and medical teams to ensure patient safety and employing verbal de-escalation techniques to address disruptive behaviors.
- Maintain an active role in observing patients, providing de-escalation and redirection as necessary, and actively participating in fostering a safe and therapeutic environment through a focus on verbal guidance and communication rather than physical intervention whenever feasible.
Education
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Must be at least 19 years of age.
- Previous experience working with psychiatric patients in a hospital or secure mental health environment preferred, with an emphasis on patient safety.
- Must be willing to engage in extensive, ongoing training regarding serious mental health issues, de-escalation and intervention techniques, core strategies, patient safety, and trauma-informed care.
We celebrate diversity and are committed to fostering an inclusive environment for all employees.
