About the Role

As a Production Supervisor, you will play a critical role in the success of our manufacturing operations. You will be responsible for developing and executing departmental plans to achieve overall business objectives.

You will oversee production employees within the department, ensuring the manufacture of high-quality products in a safe working environment. You will also be responsible for meeting output expectations, customer needs, and profitability targets.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Departmental Planning and Execution: Coordinate the organization of work within the department, attending daily performance meetings, analyzing daily department results, and collaborating with other departments to resolve issues.
  2. Staffing and Development: Manage staffing and development of employees within the department, participating in interviewing and hiring activities, training, and coaching of employees.
  3. Employee Performance Management: Manage employee performance by leading and motivating employees using effective performance management techniques, including establishing expectations and goals, providing recognition and feedback, and addressing performance problems.
  4. Continuous Improvement: Improve the flow of work through the department, and gain mid to long-term efficiencies by providing guidance and direction to the team in continuous improvement efforts.
  5. Employee Relations: Maintain employee relations by ensuring that employee timecards are managed and accurate, resolving issues in a timely manner and consistent with company policies and Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A college degree or technical school certificate in business.
  • Experience managing within a union environment.
  • Manufacturing experience and/or training (5 years).
  • Managing others (3 years).
  • Demonstrates application of supply chain knowledge to management of department (2 years).
  • Demonstrates application of Lean manufacturing concepts to management of department (2 years).
  • Demonstrates application of financial impacts to Profit & Loss in the management of the department (1 year).
  • Demonstrates the ability to effectively mentor and develop team (3 years).
  • Experience in quantitative analysis by using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of solution options to problems required.
  • The ability to monitor/assess your own performance and others' to make improvements or take corrective action.
  • The ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.
  • The ability to effectively use Word, Excel, and Outlook to carry out work (intermediate level).
  • The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
  • The ability to conduct tests and inspections of processes to evaluate quality or performance.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, see, talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit. This role operates large equipment while standing for approximately 8-12 hours, regularly twisting and bending in a repetitive motion. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may frequently lift, carry, push and pull materials and objects weighing up to 50 pounds, and heavier weights with proper equipment.

The job may risk exposure to heat and/or cold, loud noise levels, vibration, and moving mechanical parts.

Travel and Work Status

This position requires occasional travel to other company locations, or functions related to production. This full-time, exempt position is located in Stockton, California. Relocation is not available for this position.

Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a competitive compensation package, including a salary range of $68,500 - $109,600 per year. We also offer a comprehensive rewards package, including quarterly bonuses or commission, and first-rate benefits.
