Job Title: Sergeant of Public Safety

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sergeant of Public Safety to join our team at Goodman Realty Group. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe working environment, commanding subordinates, and ensuring the efficient function of our security operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct daily roll call briefings to disseminate safety-related information and inspect uniforms and equipment.
  • Conduct monthly training sessions to inform and guide those under their command.
  • Conduct debriefs with those involved in critical incidents to review tactical considerations.
  • Ensure the next shift is adequately briefed on all necessary incidents involving operational safety.
  • Conduct daily briefings with the Director/Chief of Public Safety and/or their designee.
  • Review daily sign-in logs and invoices to ensure contract security hours are properly billed.
  • Ensure common areas, parking lots, and properties are routinely inspected for safety hazards and/or damage to property and/or signs.
  • Complete necessary reports for repair and/or replacement of public safety-related equipment.
  • Collaborate with contractors to preserve traffic flow and public safety.
  • Establish and continually update standard operating procedures (SOPs) involving safety-related issues.
  • Develop relationships with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies to facilitate additional resources and collaboration as needed.
  • Maintain operational awareness of local and national events that may be of concern to any Goodman Realty Group property.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of two (2) years of previous experience performing the essential functions of this position.
  • Minimum of two (1) years of management/supervisory experience.
  • Demonstrates the ability to read, write, and communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as policies, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills required.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team to build relationships and interact effectively with business partners, peers, and subordinates.
  • Ability to multi-task, work successfully under pressure, and effectively prioritize and manage time and workload necessary to accomplish safety-related positive outcomes.
  • Willingness to take on new challenges, responsibilities, and assignments.
  • Willingness to achieve and maintain Level 3 New Mexico Security Officer certification.
  • Willingness to carry and deploy with a firearm in the necessary defense of human life.
  • Willingness to engage in quarterly firearms training to maintain efficiency.
  • Willingness to conduct interviews, write factual reports, and interact with law enforcement.
  • Willingness to follow the chain-of-command and obey written, as well as verbal orders.
  • Willingness to place the needs of others ahead of yourself, as necessary to achieve safety.
  • Willingness to perform dynamically during rapidly evolving dangerous situations.
  • A valid New Mexico driver's license, vehicle insurance, good driving record, and reliable vehicle.
