Position Summary

The role of the Construction Quality Control Specialist is pivotal in ensuring the integrity of construction projects. This position entails the preparation of testing documentation for piping systems and conducting thorough inspections of mechanical, civil, electrical, and structural work.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and manage turnover documentation and oversee special projects as required.
- Conduct inspections and validate fieldwork in accordance with project specifications and drawings.
- Monitor activities that impact quality standards.
- Compile and organize all necessary turnover packages, coordinating tasks for completion across various trades.
- Review and supervise the placement and testing of construction materials.
- Assess reports related to grades, dimensions, and elevations.
- Schedule and track weld tests for both applicants and current employees as applicable.
- Evaluate and approve submissions from contractors and subcontractors.
- Ensure compliance with site/client standards throughout the project lifecycle.
- Complete all necessary Construction Completion documentation for each trade.
- Uphold safety protocols and regulations to promote a culture of safety during all project phases.
- Undertake additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or quality control preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial construction and quality control.
- Capability to obtain Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) Certification or meet Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) requirements; willingness to pursue necessary training.
- Comprehensive understanding of quality control tools and methodologies.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
- Strong decision-making skills and sound judgment.
- Excellent communication abilities, both verbal and written.
- Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proven problem-solving capabilities and effective implementation of solutions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, especially Word and Excel.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, customer specifications, Process and Instrument Diagrams (P&IDs), and Flow Charts.
- Experience in fostering a positive safety culture.
- Capacity to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
