Key Responsibilities
  • Develop algorithm, software, and hardware to extend the current Hybrid Aerial Underwater Robotic System (HAUCS) framework.
  • Design and implement sensors, sensing robotic platforms, environmental prediction models, and visualization tools as needed.
  • Conduct field experiments to test instruments and validate models.
  • Prepare data reports and presentations for technical conferences.
  • Publish results in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Mentor students in the lab.
  • Work on other related projects, including the application of AI to solve underwater vision problems.
Requirements
  • Doctorate (foreign equivalent acceptable) in electrical engineering, computer science, engineering, or related area.
  • Team player with ability to train junior scientists in the lab.
  • Familiarity with AI and robotics.
  • Comprehension of common machine learning algorithms, data mining, image analysis, etc.
  • Familiarity with conducting analysis of large datasets using Python, Matlab, or other programming languages.
  • Independent, self-motivated, well-organized, and critical thinker.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
