About the Role:
BHSN, a leading provider of whole person care, is seeking a skilled Behavioral Health Specialist to join our team. As a Community Psychiatric Support and Treatment Provider I, you will play a vital role in delivering home and community-based behavioral health support services to children and adolescents and their families.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and/or group CPST and PSR services to an assigned caseload in the home of the child/family or community to support the recovery goal of the child.
- Deliver evidence-based therapeutic and crisis intervention services to youth with behavioral and emotional challenges, working with the child and their families to prevent out-of-home placements, psychiatric hospitalizations, and other higher levels of care.
- Create integrated treatment plans that include all CFTSS service types for each child and family to track progress toward treatment plan objectives.
- Provide information and education on CFTSS services to clients, families, other programs or community partners to support informed decision making and enhance community awareness of program services.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in social work, psychology, mental health counseling or in related human services, plus one year of applicable experience.
- Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or in related human services and three years applicable experience in children's mental health, addiction, and/or foster care/child welfare/juvenile justice or other related human services field.
- Ability to work with children and families in home and community-based settings and via telehealth.
- Completion of Mandated Reporter training.
- Valid NYS driver's license with a driving record acceptable to BHSN insurance carrier and reliable transportation required for local travel.
