Your role at BHSN:

Child/Adolescent Psychiatrists evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders. They conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, develop treatment plans, prescribe medication, and evaluate treatment results. Expected to provide excellent patient care and compassion in every counter and across programs, aligned with the organizations core values.

Assigned clinical programs may include, and are not limited to, outpatient behavioral health clinics, school-based services, crisis services, substance abuse services, and rehabilitative programs.

What your day might look like:
  • Prescribe, direct, or administer psychotherapeutic treatments or medications to treat mental, emotional, or behavioral disorder
  • Order, analyze and evaluate patient data or test findings to diagnose nature or extent of mental disorder
  • Completes training and provides treatment using Medication Assisted Therapies (MAT) as part of an evidence-based integrated approach to delivering behavioral healthcare services
  • Document all services within twenty-four hours of the date of a client's visit and in accordance with state/federal guidelines and BHSN policies and procedure
  • Additional duties as assigned
Your skills and qualifications:
  • Current and valid board certification in psychiatry
  • Medical degree from an accredited medical school and completion of an approved psychiatric residency
  • Licensed to practice medicine in state of practice
  • Current DEA registration
  • Certification or eligibility for certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology
  • Excellent knowledge and familiarity with current DSM criteria
  • Training and experience in providing Medication Assisted Therapies (MAT) preferred
