Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM, with rotating weekends.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Efficiently manage tasks in a high-volume laboratory setting while adapting to evolving circumstances.
  • Assess specimen acceptability for testing based on established protocols.
  • Conduct both routine and advanced technical procedures in accordance with departmental Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments to ensure optimal performance.
  • Exhibit strong problem-solving skills and make informed technical decisions regarding testing processes.
  • Prepare, evaluate, and test new reagents or controls as necessary.
  • Deliver precise and timely test results to support quality patient care.
  • Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control measures.
  • Maintain adequate testing supplies and assist with specimen processing when required.
  • Ensure a safe working environment by adhering to safety protocols and utilizing appropriate personal protective equipment.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant clinical laboratory experience.
  • Experience in Blood Banking is essential.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a life science or laboratory science/Medical Technology.
  • ASCP certification as a Medical Technologist is mandatory.
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Proficient in computer applications; familiarity with laboratory information systems is advantageous.
  • Strong attention to detail coupled with excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Must successfully pass a standardized color vision assessment.
  • Willingness to work overtime or adjust shifts based on operational needs.
