Key Responsibilities:
  • Transform Business Requirements: Gather and interpret business requirements, translating them into visual stories that drive decision-making and strategic insights.
  • Create Data-Driven Stories: Develop beautiful and visually stunning data-driven stories to convey data to stakeholders in a way that facilitates understanding, thoughtful ideation of next steps, and conveys impact.
  • Establish Design Standards: Establish and enforce design standards and practices across all projects to ensure consistency, usability, and a polished look, focusing on details such as fonts, titles, and layout.
  • Lead and Train Staff: Train, develop, and lead staff and student workers.
  • Utilize Advanced Visualization Tools: Utilize advanced visualization tools to create and produce high-end results.
  • Provide Strategic Leadership: Serve as a strategic leader within Action Lab, specifically and jointly across EdPlus, offering insights on leveraging visualizations to enhance business processes and strategic decision-making.
  • Provide Visual, Technical, and Editorial Leadership: Provide visual, technical, and editorial leadership guidance.
  • Assume Additional Duties: Assume and coordinate other duties/projects as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree: Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Experience: Five (5) years of experience in data visualization.
  • Desired Qualifications: Knowledge of data visualization tools and technologies, design principles, reporting tools, visual journalism, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and key libraries, Adobe tools, and charting and other data visualization techniques.
Working Environment:

EdPlus at ASU is located at SkySong, the ASU Scottsdale Innovation Center. The center houses a diverse business community that links technology, research, education, and entrepreneurship to position ASU and Greater Phoenix as global leaders in the knowledge economy.

Activities are primarily performed in a regular, climate-controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting or standing. Daily use of desktop or laptop computer is required. Ability to clearly communicate to perform essential duties. Regular review of completed tasks.
