Assistant Project Manager

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Project Manager to join our team at Rosso Recruiting. As an Assistant Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing all tasks related to assigned projects, ensuring quality and efficiency. This is a full-time position with a career growth opportunity for an early to mid-level career professional with project management and strong communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Project Oversight: Manage all tasks related to assigned projects ensuring quality and efficiency.
- Team Collaboration: Support Project Managers and adapt to evolving project needs.
- Kickoff Meetings: Align team members on project scope and objectives.
- Document Procurement: Obtain necessary drawings specifications and updates from the general contractor.
- Foreman Support: Provide the foreman with schedules codes orders and approved submittals.
- Contract Management: Secure letters of intent or contracts before work begins.
- Contract Confirmation: Ensure contract execution with the president and Project Manager.
- Drawing Verification: Keep drawings current and accurate.
- Project Review: Identify and address potential issues with the Project Manager and estimator.
- File Updates: Supply updated documentation to the foreman.
- Schedule Review: Assess the two-week lookahead and report to the department head.
- Progress Documentation: Capture and record job progress with photos.
- CAD Supervision: Work with the CAD department and communicate issues to the general contractor.
- Meeting Attendance: Participate in weekly meetings and site walks.
- Permit Acquisition: Obtain all necessary permits for project compliance.
- Record Maintenance: Provide and maintain approved submittal records for the foreman.
Required Skills:
- Comfort with learning/advising Construction ERP (Viewpoint/Spectrum) systems.
- Experience: 3 years in materials estimating for HVAC commercial construction.
- Meeting Attendance: Participate in prebid meetings and walkthroughs as necessary.
- Budgeting Skills: Expertise in budgeting for commercial/industrial HVAC projects of $5MM and above.
- Communication & Coordination: Collaborate with Project Managers and vendors to develop prebid checklists and manage files.
- Technical Proficiency: Ability to read schematics and blueprints manage Excel spreadsheets coordinate pricing and scheduling with engineers and monitor project progress.
- Clear Reporting: Strong communication skills for completing reports.
Knowledge:
- HVAC Systems: Familiarity with VRF VAV split systems packaged units DDC controls DOAS ERVs kitchen hoods and hot/chilled water systems.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to move and lift 25 lbs.
Duties:
- Cost Management: Assign cost codes and list job numbers for all activities. Price and submit additional work or change orders.
- Documentation: Obtain record drawings and submit with O/M manuals to the general contractor.
- Safety & Compliance: Report safety violations and employee infractions. Apply for required variances with the state.
- Subcontractor Coordination: Obtain all necessary paperwork from subcontractors.
