Key Responsibilities

  • Operations Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Restaurant, ensuring that all aspects of the business are running smoothly and efficiently.
  • Manage, Lead and Mentor: Manage and lead a team of managers and staff, providing guidance and support to ensure that they are equipped to perform their duties effectively.
  • Service Quality: Ensure that service is maintained at the highest level of quality, through proper execution of the sequence of service.
  • Business and Marketing Objectives: Maintain overall vision and ensure that business and marketing objectives are met.
  • Risk Management: Develop and implement risk management and mitigation strategies to minimize potential risks to the business.
  • Represent the Company: Represent the company in investigating, answering, and settling grievances.
  • Corporate Mandates: Maintain all corporate mandates and ensure that they are implemented effectively.
  • Reporting: Update and track daily reports to ensure that the business is running efficiently and effectively.

Staffing and Team Development

  • Staffing Requirements: Analyze staffing requirements and develop iteration plans to ensure that the business has the necessary staff to meet its needs.
  • Recruitment: Interview, screen, and recruit job applicants to ensure that the business has the best possible candidates.
  • Training and Development: Coach, train, and develop management and hourly staff to ensure that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Team Performance: Manage regular review of performance for management and hourly staff within the Performance Management guidelines.

Fiscal Responsibility

  • Monitoring Activities: Monitor activities and expenses to ensure that the business is running efficiently and effectively.
  • Sales Forecasts: Set and monitor sales forecasts and profitability reports to ensure that the business is meeting its financial objectives.
  • Communication: Keep Director of Operations informed of sales and key issues.
  • Sales Growth: Increase sales through marketing, networking, and incentives for staff to raise guest check average.
  • Budget Management: Maintain budgeted revenues, cost of sales (COS), labor, supplies, and operating cash flow (OCF). Review monthly profit and loss statement and act on all variances.

Qualifications/Primary Job Requirements

  • Minimum 8 years professional hospitality experience; ideally of projects exceeding $10 million.
  • Food and Safety training (OSHA preferred).
  • Excellent management, delegation, and presentation skills.
  • Strong influence, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication, problem-solving, and creative solution generation skills.
  • General business acumen.
  • Expert knowledge of all Restaurant computer systems (e.g., MICROS, Squirrel, and Aloha).
  • Finds problem areas, develops solutions, and gets the job done.
