Position Overview:

As a Mortgage Loan Evaluator at The Ladders, your primary role will involve meticulously assessing documentation related to mortgage loan applications to safeguard the organization's interests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting thorough reviews of loan files to verify the accuracy of income, assets, credit, pricing, and product specifications.
  • Ensuring completeness and correctness of all loan documentation.
  • Confirming that loans comply with established portfolio or investor guidelines.
  • Making informed decisions within designated signing authority.
  • Evaluating appraisal reports and assessing company risk in accordance with established criteria.
  • Gaining a comprehensive understanding of lending programs and underwriting standards, including secondary market requirements.
  • Collaborating with various departments to provide outstanding customer service.
  • Maintaining an in-depth knowledge of The Ladders' lending policies, procedures, and systems.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate degree in accounting, finance, or real estate is preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to exercise independent judgment in credit and property analysis.
  • Capability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines.
  • Self-motivated and eager to learn, with a proven track record of seeking resources to address learning needs efficiently.

Physical Requirements:

This position requires the use of office equipment such as computers and telephones. Effective communication with clients and colleagues is essential, both in person and over the phone. The role may involve prolonged periods of sitting or standing.

Compensation:

  • Pay range for Mortgage Evaluators: $49.46 per hour.
  • Typical hiring range for Mortgage Evaluators: $33.30 per hour.
