Reporting Structure: Reports to Service Administrator/Owner

Position Summary:

The Landscape Operations Supervisor is accountable for planning and managing all on-site elements of landscape installation, renovation, and maintenance projects.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the execution of landscape installation and maintenance projects, including labor, equipment, and material planning to ensure timely and budget-compliant completion.
  • Ensure safety, quality, and productivity at work sites and/or shop/yard.
  • Assist in preparing job sites prior to project initiation.
  • Supervise, coordinate, and schedule daily activities of a landscape construction crew ranging from 4 to 12 employees.
  • Delegate tasks to crew members to facilitate efficient project completion.
  • Engage in recruitment efforts by conducting secondary interviews with prospective candidates.
  • Operate various tools and equipment, including heavy machinery, chainsaws, and other necessary tools.
  • Interpret blueprints and specifications to guide work activities.
  • Meet with subcontractors to oversee quality, efficiency, and adherence to deadlines.
  • Complete and submit all required documentation and data daily.
  • Adhere to all company policies and regulations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in assigned vehicles, equipment, job sites, and shop/yard areas.
  • Comply with local health and safety laws and regulations.
  • Assist in ongoing employee training.
  • Communicate with clients in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Participate in snow removal operations and planning.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • At least 3 years of professional experience in the landscaping sector.
  • Ability to operate necessary equipment and tools safely and responsibly.
  • Effective communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Capability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Knowledge of materials, methods, tools, and equipment essential for various landscaping practices.
  • Proficient in English (speaking, reading, and writing).
  • Must possess a smartphone or data-enabled device for communication and reporting.

Work Environment:

  • Ability to work with hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment.
  • Physical capability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. consistently throughout the work shift.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent stamina is essential.
  • Regularly work near heavy machinery and vehicles.
  • Work outdoors in varying conditions, including heat, humidity, rain, dust, noise, and cold.
  • Flexible working hours, including occasional weekend shifts during winter weather events.
