Parts Manager Job Description

A highly organized and detail-oriented Parts Manager is needed to oversee the inventory and supply chain operations at Al Willeford Chevrolet Inc. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and be able to work effectively with internal staff and customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Determine Needs and Specify Parts: Accurately identify and specify parts required for production, ensuring timely delivery and minimizing stockouts.
  • Purchase Orders and Inventory Management: Create and issue purchase orders to vendors, manage inventory levels, and record warranty parts returned.
  • Special Order Parts and Tracking: Create special ordered parts on the dealership computer system, notify relevant personnel upon receipt, and review tracking records.
  • Invoice Verification and Record-Keeping: Compare invoices against requisitions to verify quality and quantity of merchandise received, and maintain accurate records of outside purchases and parts issued.
  • Warehouse Inventory and Meetings: Perform ongoing warehouse parts inventory and attend weekly department meetings to stay informed and address any concerns.
Qualifications and Benefits:
  • Compensation and Experience: Compensation is based on experience, and the ideal candidate with GM dealership experience will receive the most consideration.
  • Physical Demands and Accommodations: The physical demands of this role require standing, walking, and lifting up to 25 pounds, with occasional lifting of more than 100 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
