Principal Plumbing Systems Engineer

As a key member of our engineering team, you will take on the responsibility of producing high-quality deliverables, including narratives, calculations, drawings, and specifications. Your role will involve:
- Leading client meetings and coordinating efforts between project teams.
- Applying engineering judgment and techniques to guide projects from initial concepts through to construction.
- Assembling and overseeing effective project teams.
- Conducting plumbing design calculations and selecting appropriate equipment.
- Performing site visits and generating comprehensive reports.
- Providing mentorship and development opportunities for junior staff.
- Writing and updating plumbing specifications and master standards.
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships.
- Participating in leadership committees within the firm.
- Determining plumbing system requirements for various building types.
- Ensuring adherence to the project quality management plan.
- Inspiring and motivating team members while serving as a technical resource.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should possess:
- A college degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience.
- Licensure as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) is preferred.
- Certification as a Plumbing Designer (CPD) is advantageous.
- LEED accreditation is a plus.
- A minimum of 5 years of direct experience in MEP consulting or 7 years of related experience.
- Expertise in mechanical and plumbing system design.
- Advanced knowledge of building codes and plumbing design standards.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively convey design options.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Work Environment
This position is hybrid, allowing for a blend of remote and in-office work. You will operate in a professional office setting, which may include the presence of pets. Standard office equipment will be utilized regularly.
