Position SummaryThe Housekeeping Supervisor is tasked with ensuring that guest rooms, work areas, and the overall hotel environment are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and order. This role involves coordinating daily housekeeping operations and upholding the operational standards of the department. The supervisor will oversee room attendants, laundry staff, and housepersons to ensure an exceptional guest experience. Regular inspections of guest accommodations and public areas will be conducted to ensure compliance with brand cleanliness and appearance standards. The supervisor must be well-versed in all housekeeping policies and hotel procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the efficient operation of assigned housekeeping areas.
- Supervise the activities of Room Attendants, Housepersons, and Laundry Attendants.
- Organize and streamline the room preparation process.
- Allocate daily cleaning tasks and room assignments to the team.
- Ensure the cleanliness of guest rooms, hallways, and back-of-house areas.
- Inspect occupied and departing rooms, paying special attention to guest requirements.
- Manage guest requests and communicate them effectively to relevant departments.
- Conduct routine inspections of guest rooms to ensure adherence to standards.
- Maintain awareness of all room types and available amenities.
- Respond to guest inquiries promptly and efficiently.
- Implement lost and found procedures as necessary.
- Report maintenance issues to the appropriate department.
- Assist the Executive Housekeeper or Assistant General Manager with training initiatives.
- Represent team needs to other hotel departments.
- Adhere to hotel security, fire safety regulations, and health legislation.
- Collaborate with other departments to maintain positive working relationships.
- Ability to stand, walk, kneel, bend, and carry items for extended periods, as is customary in housekeeping roles.
- Must be capable of pushing up to 75 lbs. and lifting/carrying up to 25 lbs.
- Previous experience in a hotel setting is highly desirable.
- Two to three years of experience in hotel housekeeping.
- Experience in managing or leading a team is preferred.
