Job Title: Electrical Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team at BB&E Inc. in Norfolk, VA. As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing electrical systems for new construction and renovation projects.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in code-compliant facilities design. You will be responsible for conducting field evaluations, generating review comments, and ensuring that electrical design submittals meet code standards. Additionally, you will assist with construction quality assurance, perform site visits, and witness acceptance testing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct field evaluations and generate review comments for electrical design submittals
  • Assist with construction quality assurance and perform site visits
  • Witness acceptance testing and provide trouble shooting recommendations
  • Use AutoCAD and/or REVIT software, Microsoft Office products, and electrical engineering design and analysis software
  • Produce results of analysis in writing and consolidate findings of others
Requirements:
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in the discipline of Electrical Engineering is desired
  • Knowledge of DoD and Navy guide specifications, criteria, and policy, industry codes and standards, and standard practices as related to electrical engineering design
  • Knowledge of local, state, federal, and foreign country laws, codes, and other statutory requirements affecting electrical engineering design
  • Knowledge of budgeting, planning, and project management techniques
