Electrical Engineer Job Description

Laborie Medical Technologies is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our operations team in Portsmouth, NH. This role will allow a flexible hybrid work schedule.

Job Summary:

The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for various hardware and electrical activities, including the ongoing improvement and maintenance of existing product lines. The position will involve the design and integration of hardware components, assemblies, and procedures for products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage Electrical design processes to ensure timely delivery of design and integration into the production of electrical and PCB designs.
  • Aid in test strategies and executing of design verification.
  • Aid in the creation of Product and Development Documentation in compliance with Laborie QMS, ISO, and other standards.
  • Design, implement, and deliver product changes to support sales, marketing, production, and service.
  • Collaborate with new product development, manufacturing engineering, and quality engineering staff to ensure compliance of new or modified products and processes to company design control and quality system requirements.
  • Provide technical support to regulatory affairs, customer care and marketing staff for product support issues and country registration processes.
  • Work with management and development teams to establish best practices.
  • Support collection and documentation of user's requirements, development plans, time estimates, and resource management.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical/Electronic and/or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience in electrical and electronic product design, design controls in the medical device industry (or equivalent high-reliability industries such as automotive, aerospace, military, etc.)
  • Experience in analog/digital electrical designs, Taking designs from concept to production.
  • Designs develops, debugs, modifies, and tests electrical circuits and systems by using current tools, analysis techniques, and technologies.
  • Ability to document complex designs including system requirements, theory of operation, schematics, interconnect diagrams, test procedures, and test reports.
  • Excellent hands-on electronics prototyping, debugging, and verification.
  • Advanced skills with Altium are preferred. CAD tools and Firmware knowledge is an assets.
  • Design experience with FDA/IEC (IEC Safety standards) regulated medical devices is preferred.
  • Experience in EMC is a distinct advantage.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and associated applications.
  • Highly developed analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Highly organized with well-developed time-management skills and processes for managing multiple priorities.
