Job Overview
Position Summary
Under close supervision, conduct fundamental data research and financial assessments to bolster business operations and communicate findings to the manager or project leader. Aid in the formulation of business, financial, and data evaluations. Propose solutions to challenges and issues pertaining to business operations. Gather and interpret data to assess trends and outcomes.
- Deliver basic analysis and reporting by collaborating with Inventory Management, Information Systems, Financial Audit, and other departments within the organization.
- Evaluate scorecards, offering insights into trends or atypical performance. Examine market strategies, associated products, and market or share trends.
- Structure plans and suggest basic analyses and reports aligned with continuous operational processes and procedures. Recommend, develop, create, and implement standardized reporting for routine business documentation.
- Oversee data accuracy, timeliness, and integrity in the information utilized for analysis and reporting. Notify relevant personnel if discrepancies in data are identified. Collect business intelligence from available industry reports, public information, field reports, or purchased sources.
- Ensure follow-up so that analysis and reporting results are reviewed and acted upon.
- Support the unit or department by executing specific individual tasks. Conduct due diligence and transition activities as necessary.
- Maintain and/or refresh business intelligence tools, databases, dashboards, systems, or methodologies.
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Mathematics, or Applied Statistics.
Experience Requirements
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel (for instance: utilizing the SUM function, adjusting borders, modifying column width, inserting charts, applying text wrap, sorting, setting headers and footers, and/or print scaling).
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Access (for example: designing and creating simple queries, altering data types, adding dates, managing required fields, and/or creating labels).
Professional Experience
- Experience applying standard financial, accounting, and business problem-solving techniques to business challenges with multiple variables.
- Experience calculating figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, and volume.
- Experience in an analytical capacity within a sales context.
- Familiarity with SAP; experience with FoxPro and Visual Basic is a plus.
- Background in financial analysis and data reporting.
