We are seeking a highly skilled Mammography Technologist to join our team at Infojini Healthcare. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in mammography and be able to perform screening and diagnostic mammography at a minimum.
Key Responsibilities- Perform mammographic procedures on in/outpatients according to published department protocols.
- Review each prescription, history questionnaire, and patient record prior to the examination to ensure all pertinent information is available for radiologist interpretation.
- Perform radiologic examinations with a high standard of accuracy in positioning and technical factors.
- Practice universal precautions and aseptic technique to prevent cross contamination.
- Process images using the PAC system.
- Complete and verify cases in a timely manner.
- Ensure work lists are cleaned up daily.
- Monitor and resolve Exceptions List daily.
- Properly utilize the Breast reporting system (PenRad), EMR, and PACS systems.
- Properly load external imaging and create necessary orders and scanning of reports into PACS system for radiologist review.
- Analyze each acquired image for proper positioning, proper markers, date stickers, and appropriate labels and patient identification.
- Repeat image if presence of any factors that may deter from its diagnostic value.
- Maintain a responsive/respectful relationship with patients.
- Assess and respond to patients' physical, sociological/psychological needs.
- Explain all procedures in a clear and concise manner.
- Understand and respect cultural differences.
- Make use of Cyracom phone when needed for language barriers.
- Maintain cleanliness of assigned work area.
- Ensure assigned area is properly stocked with adequate supplies and required material to perform procedures.
- Ensure cleanliness of radiographic equipment and work area.
- Communicate efficiently with coordinators, supervisors, point person, and vendors.
- Ensure continuity and adequate follow-through regarding equipment malfunctions.
- Communicate appropriately with patients, co-workers, students, physicians, and supervisors.
- Work in conjunction with Ultrasound to ensure a productive and comprehensive flow of patients through both modalities.
- Perform bone density scans accurately, understanding of terminology and results.
- Accurately review interventional cases and working knowledge of interventional procedures and protocols.
- Assist with needle localizations, and if trained, stereotactic biopsies.
- Perform other tasks and duties as assigned.
- Practice the ALARA principle for radiation protection.
- Accurately and effectively perform QA as per MQSA guidelines.
- Report problems to Clinical Engineering and supervisor.
- Orient new employees and participate as preceptor for procedures if requested.
- Exhibit a responsible attitude with regard to attendance and tardiness.
- Always provide notification and advance notice for absence or tardiness.
- Always demonstrate reliability and make every attempt to consistently report to work on time at the start of the assigned shift, even in inclement weather.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in mammography.
- Able to perform screening and diagnostic mammography at a minimum.
- Preferred skills and experience: ability to perform DEXA and biopsy procedures.
- HS Diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of accredited course in Radiologic Technology or Mammography.
- ARRT (R) and (M) certification.
- Active state Mammography license.
- BLS certification.
- Must meet all ECE requirements to maintain their Mammo certification.
