Job Summary

Tact Staff is seeking a highly skilled Mammography Technologist to join our team for a travel assignment in a reputable healthcare institution. As a Mammography Technologist, you will be responsible for performing mammographic procedures on in/outpatients, reviewing patient records, and ensuring accurate and high-quality imaging.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform mammographic procedures with a high standard of accuracy and technical skill.
  • Review patient records and histories to ensure all pertinent information is available for radiologist interpretation.
  • Practice universal precautions and aseptic technique to prevent cross-contamination.
  • Process images using the PAC system and ensure timely completion and verification of cases.
  • Monitor and resolve exceptions lists daily and maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Utilize Breast reporting systems, EMR, and PACS systems effectively and efficiently.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, coordinators, supervisors, and vendors.
  • Work collaboratively with ultrasound technologists to ensure a productive and comprehensive flow of patients through both modalities.
  • Perform bone density scans accurately and understand terminology and results.
  • Assist with needle localizations and stereotactic biopsies as trained.
  • Practice ALARA principles for radiation protection and accurately perform QA as per MQSA guidelines.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in mammography.
  • ARRT (R) and (M) certification and active state mammography license.
  • BLS certification and ability to meet ECE requirements to maintain mammography certification.
  • Ability to perform 200 mammograms in 36 months to meet MQSA requirements.
