Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Mammography Radiologic Technologist to join our team at Mitchell Martin. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for performing mammographic procedures on inpatients and outpatients according to established protocols.

Responsibilities:

  • Review each prescription, history questionnaire, and patient record prior to the examination to ensure all pertinent information is available for radiologist interpretation.
  • Perform radiologic examinations with a high standard of accuracy in positioning and technical factors.
  • Practice universal precautions and aseptic technique to prevent cross contamination.
  • Process images using the PAC system and complete and verify cases in a timely manner.
  • Ensure work lists are cleaned up daily and monitor and resolve exceptions lists daily.
  • Properly utilize the Breast reporting system (PenRad), EMR, and PACS systems.
  • Analyze each acquired image for proper positioning, markers, date stickers, and patient identification.
  • Repeat images if necessary and maintain a responsive and respectful relationship with patients.
  • Assess and respond to patients' physical, sociological, and psychological needs.
  • Communicate efficiently with coordinators, supervisors, point person, and vendors.
  • Ensure continuity and adequate follow-through regarding equipment malfunctions.
  • Perform bone density scans accurately and understand terminology and results.
  • Accurately review interventional cases and work knowledge of interventional procedures and protocols.
  • Assist with needle localizations and, if trained, stereotactic biopsies.
  • Perform other tasks and duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • HS Diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of accredited course in Radiologic Technology or Mammography.
  • ARRT (R) and (M).
  • Active state Mammography license.
  • BLS.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience.
  • Able to perform screening and diagnostic mammography at a minimum.
  • Ability to perform DEXA and biopsy procedures (plus).
