Key Responsibilities:
We are looking for multiple Survey Crew Leaders to enhance our Survey Division.

POSITION OVERVIEW


In this position, you will be responsible for overseeing, guiding, and mentoring a survey team of 1 to 5 members. This includes delegating tasks, monitoring progress, and conducting performance evaluations.

Your primary duties will involve executing surveys for boundary and topographic assessments, ALTA surveys, GPS operations, hydrographic studies, and control surveys. You will collaborate with construction plans and provide surveying services for large-scale, dynamic commercial projects. Expect to perform approximately 90% of your work outdoors, often in varying environmental conditions.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND TASKS
Supervise the operation and upkeep of surveying equipment utilized on-site and assist in training team members when feasible.

Generate field sketches and detailed field notes, including level notes, for each project in alignment with company and general surveying standards.

Gather all necessary instruments and measuring devices to complete diverse survey assignments. Accurately operate and calibrate survey instruments such as levels, transits, theodolites, electronic measuring devices, and total stations equipped with electronic data collection capabilities.

Ensure that the appropriate equipment is prepared and batteries are charged for upcoming assignments.

Conduct mathematical computations as required.

Demonstrate the ability to interpret and comprehend plans and specifications.

Possess an understanding of fundamental sources of measurement inaccuracies.

Be knowledgeable about construction staking principles and stake markings.

Comply with company safety protocols and utilize provided personal protective equipment (PPE).

Foster positive client and public relations in the field.

Be accountable for the completion of assigned tasks.

Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:
REQUIRED TRAINING, EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND/OR SKILLS

Experience in construction staking and data collection systems is essential.

Ability to execute basic GPS operations is required.

Proficiency with Robotic Total Stations is necessary.

Familiarity with basic computer applications is expected.

Strong interpersonal skills and effective written and verbal communication abilities are crucial for maintaining positive client and public relations in the field.

A minimum of 7-10 years of experience as a Crew Leader or Survey Party Chief is required.

A valid driver's license is mandatory.

A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

Knowledge of both surveying technology and basic civil engineering principles is necessary.

PREFERRED TRAINING, EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND/OR SKILLS

Five or more years of experience as a Crew Leader or Survey Party Chief is preferred.

A surveying license or LSIT is advantageous.

Extensive experience in performing complex surveying calculations is preferred.

Experience with Trimble or similar software is beneficial.

Experience in commercial construction is a plus.

Compensation:
Compensation will vary based on experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.

Additional Compensation:

Employees may be eligible to participate in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program, which is contingent on company, business segment, and individual performance against key performance indicators that may vary by year and employee.
