Job Overview

Timmons Group is seeking a dedicated Field Survey Technician to become a vital part of our Survey Division.

Role Summary

The Field Survey Technician plays a crucial role in supporting Land Surveyors and Party Chiefs by applying the principles and techniques of civil engineering and land surveying. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage in Field Crew operations to gather essential data for boundary, topographical, and construction stakeout surveys.
  • Acquire skills in operating total stations, levels, GPS, and data collection devices for effective survey data acquisition.
  • Assist in construction stakeout projects under the supervision of a Party Chief, which may include various infrastructure elements.
  • Learn the daily maintenance and care of surveying instruments.
  • Document clear and detailed field notes, including sketches, to ensure accurate reporting.
  • Collaborate effectively within a team and demonstrate adaptability to various weather conditions.
Qualifications

Successful candidates will possess the following:

  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • Preferred candidates will have at least six months of surveying experience or equivalent training in the surveying field.
  • A solid understanding of standard surveying practices and equipment.
  • The ability to transport up to 50 lbs of equipment across diverse terrains.
  • Willingness to work outdoors year-round, facing seasonal weather challenges.
  • Physical capabilities to perform tasks such as hiking, climbing, and vegetation management.
