Timmons Group is seeking a dedicated Field Survey Technician to become a vital part of our Survey Division.
Role SummaryThe Field Survey Technician plays a crucial role in supporting Land Surveyors and Party Chiefs by applying the principles and techniques of civil engineering and land surveying. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Key Responsibilities- Engage in Field Crew operations to gather essential data for boundary, topographical, and construction stakeout surveys.
- Acquire skills in operating total stations, levels, GPS, and data collection devices for effective survey data acquisition.
- Assist in construction stakeout projects under the supervision of a Party Chief, which may include various infrastructure elements.
- Learn the daily maintenance and care of surveying instruments.
- Document clear and detailed field notes, including sketches, to ensure accurate reporting.
- Collaborate effectively within a team and demonstrate adaptability to various weather conditions.
Successful candidates will possess the following:
- A high school diploma or GED.
- Preferred candidates will have at least six months of surveying experience or equivalent training in the surveying field.
- A solid understanding of standard surveying practices and equipment.
- The ability to transport up to 50 lbs of equipment across diverse terrains.
- Willingness to work outdoors year-round, facing seasonal weather challenges.
- Physical capabilities to perform tasks such as hiking, climbing, and vegetation management.
