Opportunity Overview

We are seeking a proactive and experienced IT Systems Administrator/Manager to join our growing IT team. This role combines hands-on technical work with leadership responsibilities, managing daily IT operations, supporting internal users, and overseeing critical infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Manage day-to-day IT operations, including coordinating tasks for the IT Managed Service Provider
  2. Act as the primary point of contact between the company and the IT Managed Service Provider, ensuring high service levels and timely issue resolution
  3. Oversee ticket management and escalate issues as necessary to the MSP while monitoring service delivery and performance
  4. Facilitate the integration of new technologies in collaboration with the IT MSP and internal stakeholders
  5. Cloud and Systems Administration: oversee Office 365, Azure Active Directory, and other cloud services, managing user accounts, access controls, and security protocols
  6. Administer and maintain local servers when implemented, ensuring high availability and optimal performance
  7. Implement backup solutions and disaster recovery plans to safeguard business operations
  8. Manage IT assets, ensuring lifecycle management, from acquisition to decommissioning
  9. Project Leadership and Implementation: lead small-to-medium IT projects, such as system upgrades, new software deployments, and network expansions
  10. Collaborate with internal departments and the MSP to assess IT needs and implement solutions that enhance productivity and security
  11. Develop and maintain IT infrastructure documentation and procedures to support scalability and process improvement
  12. Infrastructure and Network Support: oversee network performance, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and ensure secure and reliable network operations
  13. Work with the MSP to manage network devices (e.g., switches, routers, firewalls) and perform regular updates
  14. Ensure the ongoing reliability of audio-visual systems, including Zoom and conference room technology
  15. Security and Compliance: implement and maintain security measures, including Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) and Single Sign-On (SSO), in collaboration with the MSP
  16. Ensure that systems and data comply with company policies and relevant industry regulations (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR)
  17. Assist in conducting audits and compliance checks in coordination with the MSP
  18. End-User Support and Training: provide high-level support for escalated IT issues and manage end-user expectations, ensuring prompt and effective resolutions
  19. Lead internal IT training initiatives, educating staff on new technologies, best practices, and security protocols
  20. Establish a positive, customer-focused IT environment, empowering users with self-service resources and timely support
  21. Strategic IT Planning: collaborate with leadership to develop long-term IT strategies that align with company growth
  22. Identify opportunities for IT process improvements and technology advancements
  23. Provide input on budget planning for IT-related expenses, including vendor contracts and software licenses
