Job Overview
This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and nimble legal team at a fast-growing fintech company. As the Senior Counsel, Commercial and Product, you will play a key role in managing legal matters that support the company's evolving business. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to provide strategic legal advice and support the company's product lifecycle, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Drafting, negotiating, and managing complex commercial agreements, including master services agreements, sales contracts, consulting agreements, marketing agreements, referral agreements, statements of work, sponsorship agreements, partnership agreements, vendor contracts, non-disclosure agreements, and other licensing or technology agreements.
- Creating and updating commercial contract templates, playbooks, and other resources to enhance the contracting process.
- Partnering with the sales team and leveraging new technologies to introduce efficiencies in the commercial contracting process.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams including marketing, product, HR, business development, sales, finance, and operations to identify and provide strategic legal advice on issues impacting the company's products, business, and customers.
- Working creatively and collaboratively with product and business teams to provide business-oriented legal advice throughout the product lifecycle, from design and development to customer support and marketing activities.
- Drafting and maintaining consumer-facing legal policies, documents, and related materials, including terms and conditions, product policies, and disclosures, and implementing related processes.
- Managing day-to-day interactions with business partners, outside counsel, and other stakeholders.
- Assisting the legal and compliance teams with additional projects as needed.
About You
We are looking for a proactive, business-minded attorney who enjoys taking on new challenges in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- JD degree from an accredited law school and a license in good standing to practice law in at least one state bar.
- 5+ years of relevant legal experience, preferably with a mix of law firm and in-house counsel roles.
- Experience in scaling revenue operations and handling B2B or B2B2C commercial agreements within the fintech or regulated consumer-facing financial services industry.
- Strong analytical skills, diligence, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated excellent legal and business judgment and strategic thinking.
- Comfortable in dynamic, fast-paced environments with an entrepreneurial spirit and a willingness to roll up your sleeves.
