Academic Technology Specialist I

Emory University is seeking a highly skilled Academic Technology Specialist I to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining technologies that support the teaching and learning mission of the University.
Key Responsibilities- Technology Maintenance: Maintain technologies that support the teaching and learning mission of the University.
- Deployment and Support: Deploy technology hardware and/or software applications via in-person and virtual assistance for students, faculty, staff, and selected guests.
- Troubleshooting and Enhancement: Support and utilize monitoring tools to troubleshoot incidents and enhance the availability of services.
- Academic Technology Development: Participate in the development and assessment of academic technologies and support learning-based technologies in multiple formats.
- Equipment Refresh and Installation: Perform equipment refreshes and hardware installations; troubleshoot to identify issues and initiate fixes and resolutions.
- Network Access and Support: Support campus network access to support computers and mobile devices; coordinate with vendors and contractors to meet customer needs for out-sourced technology support.
- Auxiliary Equipment Maintenance: Maintain any required auxiliary equipment pools to supplement and/or replace deployed equipment and technologies.
- Testing and Monitoring: Perform testing, inspection, and monitoring to assure established expectations are met.
- User Training and Support: Conduct orientations and training sessions to build user skills; assist UTS and Emory staff to support back-to-school efforts and related events.
- Research and Product Recommendations: Research new products to remain current with market trends and recent technology requirements, and provide product recommendations to ensure effective operability and customer satisfaction.
- A bachelor's degree OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Experience with IT, Instructional Technology, A/V Event Support Services, Video Technologies, or other related fields is preferred.
