Job Summary
The Service Desk Administrator is a key member of our IT team, responsible for providing advanced technical support to our employees. This role requires a strong understanding of IT systems and infrastructure, as well as excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Foster and maintain professional relationships with operational leaders and coworkers.
- Provide customer service and support for all IT and operational technology functions.
- Use sound judgment to ensure a safe and accident-free work environment.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures.
- Identify, diagnose, and resolve problems for users of personal computer software, hardware, enterprise networks, and the Internet.
- Communicate solutions to end-users.
- Provide one-on-one end-user problem resolution for Service Desk incidents, requests, and changes.
- Diagnose and resolve end-user network printer problems, application, PC hardware problems, email, Internet, VPN, and local-area network access issues.
- Coordinate timely repair of computer, server, or network equipment.
- May be responsible for tracking and maintaining inventory as well as shipping and receiving.
- Perform minor desktop hardware repair for PC computer equipment and peripherals.
- Help install local area network cabling systems and equipment.
- Assist analysts and IT operations technicians as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree with a major in Information Technology preferred.
- Five years' experience providing end-user support for software, hardware, and applications.
- Focus and desire to learn various IT skills.
- CompTIA A+ and Network+ certifications preferred.
- Familiarity with Microsoft technologies and Cisco Meraki hardware.
Working Conditions
This role operates in a professional office/terminal environment. The employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The ability to lift up to 30 pounds is required. There may be times when working from home is required, so the technician needs to have appropriate availability to high-speed internet.
