Purpose and Scope

The Plasma Process Lab Tech is responsible for operating under the direct supervision of the Operations Supervisor, ensuring compliance with buyer specifications, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure product integrity by adhering to FDA regulations, state regulations, and company policies.
  • Organize product in storage freezers, ensuring consistent and complete organization.
  • Perform QA reviews of donor samples and product to be shipped.
  • Assist with process flow in the lab, ensuring timely entry of bottles into the freezer.
  • Coordinate daily activities in the processing area, making daily assignments and providing preventive maintenance as scheduled.
  • Observe technicians for compliance and assist with destroying unacceptable units.
  • Manage the flow of units coming through the window, ensuring compliance with SOPs.
  • Facilitate training of new lab team members and maintain instruments used for processing and storage of donor samples and products.
  • Document operational and maintenance activities as necessary.
  • Determine supply inventory requirements and communicate delays and issues to center management.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Proficient in English (read, write, speak) with legible handwriting.
  • Current CPR card.
  • Proficient with computer entry.
  • Prior supervisory skills preferred.
  • Certified as a Trainer.
  • Six months' experience in plasma processing.
  • May be required to travel for training.
  • Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish).
Physical Demands

The Plasma Process Lab Tech must be able to perform tasks that require standing, walking, climbing, and balancing for extended periods. Ability to lift, tug, and pull up to 50 pounds is also required.

Work Environment

This role requires working in a standard office environment with occasional exposure to bloodborne pathogens and other conditions common to a donor center. Personal protective equipment is required, including protective eyewear, lab coat, gloves, and freezer jacket/gloves/pants.
