Position: Senior Linux Infrastructure Engineer (Onsite)

We are currently seeking a Senior Linux Infrastructure Engineer. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Information Assurance Manager, utilizing your expertise to provide advanced computing solutions. You will engage with a diverse range of Linux and Windows systems within a highly integrated environment, emphasizing security and high-performance computing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the design, validation, and configuration management of Information Systems.
  • Manage patching and anti-virus definitions.
  • Ensure security and maintenance of all components in alignment with established Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG) and client directives.
  • Conduct system integration, hardware, and software installations, and configure servers and workstations to support the architecture.
  • Provide technical support and problem resolution for delivered systems.
  • Administer user access and safeguard information to comply with security requirements.
  • Oversee system monitoring, user management, backups, updates, and manage break/fix scenarios.

Work Environment:

This position requires 100% onsite presence. The selected candidate will be expected to work at one of the designated locations.

Security Clearance:

An active U.S. Secret Security Clearance is required (U.S. Citizenship is mandatory). A clearance that has been active within the last 24 months is considered current.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience with Linux server and workstation environments.
  • Proficient knowledge of Windows operating systems.
  • Understanding of computer networking concepts, including network hardware and IP address management.
  • Experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining Virtualized Machine (VM) architecture.
  • Familiarity with system configuration and applying security controls under the Risk Management Framework.
  • DoD 8570 compliant IA certification for IAT II.
  • Eligibility for Special Access Programs.
  • Strong customer service skills with clear written and verbal communication.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with container management technologies such as Kubernetes, Podman, and Docker.
  • Knowledge of Special Access Program (SAP) Information Systems requirements.
  • Experience with Information Systems implementation as outlined in the Joint Special Access Program Implementation Guide (JSIG).
  • Understanding of Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) standards as defined in ICD-705.
  • Documented Computing Environment (CE) training.
  • Certifications in Windows or Linux.
  • Proficiency in shell scripting.
  • Extensive hardware experience.
  • Knowledge of DevOps best practices and system development lifecycle automation.

Education & Experience:

Typically requires advanced technical education (e.g., Bachelor’s degree) and at least 5 years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Compensation is based on candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. The summary base pay range is competitive.
