Key Responsibilities

COMPENSATION - $25-27/HOURLY + OVERTIME (AFTER 40 HOURS, TIME AND ONE-HALF), BASED ON EXPERIENCE

The role of an "Ironworker" involves the assembly of columns, steel beams, girders, joists, bridging, metal decking, and various steel components. This includes tasks related to new construction, renovations, and repairs.


DAILY TASKS

  • Ensure vertical and horizontal alignment of structural-steel components using plumb bobs, laser equipment, transits, and/or levels. Connect columns, beams, and girders with bolts, adhering to blueprints and directives from supervisors.
  • Lift steel components into position utilizing cranes or other machinery.
  • Assemble steel frames, columns, beams, and girders in accordance with blueprints and/or instructions from management.
  • Safely operate and maintain equipment (including personnel and material lifts) and small tools.
  • Report any unsafe working practices or conditions.
  • Check and maintain necessary gas, oil, or other fluid levels to ensure machinery operates effectively.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must possess 3G-4G Certification
  • At least 5 years of experience in the erection and detailing of Structural Steel
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing
  • Understanding of machinery and tools, including their design, use, repair, and maintenance
  • Knowledge of proper rigging and signaling techniques
  • Familiarity with the appropriate use of tools such as transit, laser level, torpedo, torque guns, welders, and rigging
  • Must have essential tools including bolt bags, spud wrenches, bull pins, weld hood (for welders), tape measure, sleever bar, and hammers.
