Key ResponsibilitiesCOMPENSATION - $25-27/HOURLY + OVERTIME (TIME AND ONE-HALF FOR HOURS BEYOND 40), BASED ON EXPERIENCE
The role of an "Ironworker" involves the assembly of structural components such as columns, beams, girders, joists, and metal decking, primarily in new construction, renovation, and repair projects.
DAILY TASKS
- Ensure precise vertical and horizontal alignment of structural-steel elements using tools such as plumb bobs, laser equipment, transits, and levels. Securely connect columns, beams, and girders with bolts, adhering to blueprints and supervisor instructions.
- Utilize cranes or other machinery to hoist steel components into position.
- Assemble steel frameworks, columns, beams, and girders in accordance with blueprints and supervisory guidance.
- Safely operate and maintain equipment, including personnel and material lifts, as well as small tools.
- Report any unsafe working conditions or practices.
- Monitor and maintain necessary levels of gas, oil, or other fluids to ensure machinery operates effectively.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must possess 3G-4G Certification
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in the erection and detailing of Structural Steel
- Proficient in spoken and written English
- Understanding of machinery and tools, including their design, usage, repair, and maintenance
- Knowledge of proper rigging and signaling techniques
- Familiarity with the use of transit, laser level, torpedo, torque guns, welders, and rigging
- Required tools include: bolt bags, spud wrenches, bull pins, weld hood (for welders), tape measure, sleever bar, and hammers.
