Compensation

HOURLY RATE - $25-27 + OVERTIME (TIME AND A HALF FOR HOURS BEYOND 40), BASED ON EXPERIENCE

As a "Structural Steel Erector," you will be responsible for the assembly and installation of steel structures, including columns, beams, and girders, as well as metal decking and other related components. This role encompasses new construction, renovations, and repairs.


Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure precise vertical and horizontal alignment of structural steel components using tools such as plumb bobs, laser equipment, transits, and levels. Securely connect columns, beams, and girders using bolts, adhering to blueprints and directives from supervisors.
  • Utilize cranes or other machinery to hoist steel components into position.
  • Assemble steel frames, columns, beams, and girders in accordance with blueprints and supervisory instructions.
  • Safely operate and maintain various equipment, including personnel and material lifts, as well as small tools.
  • Report any unsafe working conditions or practices promptly.
  • Monitor and maintain necessary fluid levels (gas, oil, etc.) to ensure machinery operates effectively.

Qualifications

  • Certification in 3G-4G welding is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the erection and detailing of structural steel.
  • Proficient in English, both spoken and written.
  • Strong understanding of machinery and tools, including their design, usage, repair, and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of proper rigging and signaling techniques.
  • Familiarity with the use of transit, laser levels, torque guns, welders, and rigging equipment.
  • Possession of essential tools such as bolt bags, spud wrenches, bull pins, weld hoods (for welders), tape measures, sleever bars, and hammers.
