Position Overview:


Are you ready to leverage your expertise as a Senior Wastewater Technician? At Philip Morris USA, you will be integral to ensuring our operations run smoothly, contributing to our mission of producing top-quality products.


Your role will encompass all operational facets of process management for water and wastewater treatment facilities, ensuring adherence to all regulatory and permit obligations.


Key Responsibilities:
Delivering operational assistance on a rotating shift basis for a continuous 24/7 water/wastewater operation with 12-hour shifts.

Monitoring incoming water flows from production to the powerhouse and implementing necessary process adjustments to optimize the wastewater treatment facility's performance, ensuring compliance with Federal and State regulations as well as company policies.

Overseeing the effective operation of the solid waste system by enhancing the sludge press functionality to produce optimal sludge cake for composting.

Collecting samples, conducting chemical and physical analyses, entering all wastewater-related data into the Water Information Management Solution (WIMS), and interpreting data trends for operational oversight.

Supporting Environmental Management System initiatives to maintain E3 status and participating as a team member on various Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) committees.

Ensuring the proper functioning of all equipment related to both water and wastewater treatment facilities by monitoring outputs, generating work notifications, and accurately documenting records.

Adhering to stormwater policies by monitoring precipitation events and collecting required quarterly samples.
Following and executing all lock-out tag-out safety protocols and record retention procedures.

Qualifications:
A High School Diploma or Trade School equivalent is essential. An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline is preferred.
A State of Virginia Class 1 Wastewater Operators License is strongly preferred or the ability to obtain one within two years of employment.
Demonstrated proficiency in operating luminance dissolved oxygen meters, pH meters, and chlorine analyzers.
Strong troubleshooting capabilities in the areas of pumps, valves, and various wastewater treatment apparatus.

Ability to make clear, concise, and accurate data entries on worksheets and logbooks to comply with state and quality system requirements.

Proficient digital skills in Word, Excel, and SCADA systems. Experience with DeltaV Control Systems is advantageous.
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work comfortably in a hazardous chemical environment.
