Position Overview:


Are you ready to leverage your expertise as a Senior Wastewater Technician? At Philip Morris USA, you will be integral to ensuring the optimal functioning of our facility, enabling us to maintain our commitment to producing top-tier products.


Your role will encompass overseeing all operational elements of the water and wastewater treatment systems while ensuring adherence to all regulatory and permit obligations.


Key Responsibilities:
Providing operational assistance on a rotating shift basis for a continuous 24/7 water and wastewater operation. 12-hour shift assignments.

Monitoring incoming water flows from production to the powerhouse and implementing necessary process control adjustments to ensure the efficient operation of the wastewater treatment facility, in compliance with all Federal and State regulations as well as company policies.

Ensuring the effective operation of the solid waste management system by optimizing the sludge press process to yield suitable sludge cake for composting.

Collecting samples, conducting chemical and physical analyses, inputting all wastewater-related data into the Water Information Management Solution (WIMS), and interpreting data trends for operational oversight.

Supporting Environmental Management System initiatives to maintain E3 status and actively participating in various Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) committees as a team member.

Ensuring the proper functioning of all equipment associated with both water and wastewater treatment facilities by monitoring outputs, generating work notifications, and accurately documenting records.

Adhering to stormwater management policies by monitoring precipitation events and collecting necessary quarterly samples.
Following and executing all lock-out tag-out safety protocols and record retention procedures.

Qualifications:
A High School Diploma or equivalent from a Trade School is required. An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline is preferred.
A State of Virginia Class 1 Wastewater Operators License is strongly preferred or the ability to obtain one within two years of hire.
Demonstrated proficiency in operating luminance dissolved oxygen meters, pH meters, and chlorine analyzers.
Strong troubleshooting capabilities in relation to pumps, valves, and various wastewater treatment apparatus.

Ability to produce clear, concise, and accurate data entries on worksheets and logbooks to fulfill state and quality system requirements.

Proficient digital skills in Word, Excel, and SCADA systems. Experience with DeltaV Control Systems is advantageous.
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work comfortably in a hazardous chemical environment.
