Job Summary

The Ground Support Equipment Mechanic is a key member of the Horizon Air team, responsible for ensuring the reliability and safety of our ground vehicles. As a skilled mechanic, you will be responsible for repairing and maintaining our fleet of ground support equipment, ensuring that our team can operate efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Repair and Maintenance: Perform cost-effective repairs and maintenance on ground support equipment, ensuring that it is in safe working condition.
  • Equipment Prioritization: Prioritize equipment repair needs to ensure that critical systems are functioning properly.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of parts and supplies, and create work orders as needed.
  • Troubleshooting: Analyze maintenance programs and troubleshoot equipment problems to identify and resolve issues.
  • Collaboration: Work with leads, supervisors, and managers to provide responsive service to the station's repair needs.
  • Travel: Travel to other cities to repair equipment, as needed.
Requirements
  • Experience: 2 years of maintenance experience, including experience with fabrication, auto body, automotive mechanics, heavy-equipment (diesel) mechanics, and electric vehicle and generator mechanics.
  • Qualifications: Ability to operate a Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV), and is not currently disqualified from operating a CMV. Must be able to obtain a current DOT medical certificate.
  • Skills: Ability to consistently lift 50 pounds, bend, stoop, squat, reach, and grasp. Ability to work in some inclement weather conditions.
  • Education: High school diploma. Minimum age of 21. Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certifications: ASE Certification. Technical trade school in repair and maintenance.
  • Experience: Electric powered vehicle experience.
