Senior Manager, Care and Enrichment

About the Role:

The ASPCA is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Senior Manager, Care and Enrichment to join our team at the Recovery & Rehabilitation Center (R&R Center) in Pawling, New York. As a key member of the operations leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, providing supervision, coaching, and developmental support for the Care and Enrichment team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with medical and behavioral leadership to ensure animal welfare objectives are met
  • Oversee the implementation of a robust enrichment program, collaborating with behavior and medical leadership to develop and measure its efficacy
  • Provide a safe and compassionate environment for animals in our care, using low-stress handling techniques
  • Lead the ongoing development and refinement of daily care and enrichment SOPs, collaborating across areas to ensure a cohesive Center-wide SOP package
  • Communicate clearly within and between teams to ensure consistent, efficient care

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of management experience; 3 or more strongly preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working in an animal shelter performing direct care work
  • Fear Free Shelter Program certification required or completed within 60 days of hire
  • Low Stress Handling University Silver-Level certification is required within six months of hire
