Executive Chef Opportunity at Bluebird Hunter Lodge

We are seeking a talented and innovative Executive Chef to lead our culinary team at Bluebird Hunter Lodge. As a forward-thinking and creative leader, you will be responsible for developing and implementing menus that exceed our guests' expectations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the planning and preparation of food products to meet department requirements and standards.
  • Manage inventory and recommend orders to achieve business needs within the department budget.
  • Perform regular inventory of food, beverage, and supplies, and submit orders for approval.
  • Clean and maintain the kitchen area, including refrigeration units, freezers, and cooking lines.
  • Promote a positive morale and environment through mentoring, counseling, and leadership.
  • Recruit, train, and lead kitchen personnel, fostering a sense of teamwork and collaboration.
  • Develop new and distinctive menu items and specials by combining diverse ingredients in unique ways.
  • Ensure the overall success of daily culinary operations, focusing on guest satisfaction, revenue, and profit.
  • Coordinate kitchen food preparation, including processes, portioning, garnishing, and presentation.
  • Review and track team member performance objectives, providing guidance and assistance as needed.
Requirements:
  • Strong culinary skills and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Expertise in food handling, safety, and restaurant guidelines.
  • Ability to work nights and weekends.
  • Maintenance of relevant certifications, including ServSafe and NY State requirements.
  • 7-8 years of culinary experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent GED certification.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with guests and coworkers.
  • Understanding and compliance with kitchen sanitation, safety, and equipment usage, and food storage.
  • Outstanding management abilities, including leadership, inspiration, and team building.
