Job Summary

The Staff Radiation Therapist plays a vital role in the Department of Radiation Oncology at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. This position requires a highly skilled and dedicated individual to perform radiation therapy and imaging procedures, ensuring accurate delivery of prescribed treatments to patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform radiation therapy and imaging procedures, including X-ray and radioactive substance applications, for simulation and treatment of malignancies and pain.
  • Deliver prescribed planned courses of radiation therapy to patients, adhering to strict standards and protocols.
  • Conduct quality assessment activities, education, and training for radiation therapy students, as directed by the Radiation Therapy Manager.
  • Assist in treatment planning and maintenance of prescribed standards set forth by the Radiation Oncologist.
  • Monitor patients for unusual reactions and events, observing radiation safety measures for patients and staff.
  • Participate in patient education, clinical education, and research missions of the Medical Center.
Requirements
  • 2-Year College Degree or equivalent education/experience.
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiation Therapy Technology.
  • Licensed by the State of Ohio through the Ohio Department of Health in Radiation Therapy.
  • 2+ years of Radiation Therapy experience.
