Friends of Children with Special Needs (FCSN) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting individuals with special needs and their families through community engagement. The finance and administration department is looking for a dedicated HR Generalist to join our team.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage the recruitment process, including interviewing and hiring qualified candidates for open roles; work closely with department heads to identify necessary skills and competencies.
• Conduct background checks and verify employee eligibility.
• Facilitate new hire orientation and implement employee recognition initiatives.
• Administer various human resource programs, including compensation, benefits, employee relations, performance management, and training.
• Address employment-related inquiries from applicants and staff, escalating complex issues as needed.
• Participate in employee disciplinary meetings and investigations.
• Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations at all levels; regularly review policies for adherence.
• Stay informed on trends and changes in human resources and employment law.
• Track and document compliance with mandatory training and certifications, including safety and anti-harassment training.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution abilities.
• High level of organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proven time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and act with professionalism.
• Comprehensive knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and familiar with HRIS systems.
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
• 2 to 4 years of experience in human resources management is desirable.
• SHRM-CP or PHR certification is a plus.
