Job Summary

The Accountant is a key member of the SAIIA team, responsible for performing general accounting functions that include reconciling all balance sheet accounts, resolving exceptions, posting entries, and assisting with month-end closing and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Reconcile all balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Resolve exceptions on balance sheet accounts, identifying and addressing any discrepancies or issues.
  • Reconcile cash management on a daily and monthly basis, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • Handle all cash receipts and accounts receivable entries, maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Maintain accounts payable and accounts receivable aging schedules, providing timely and accurate information to stakeholders.
  • Reconcile construction in progress accounts on a monthly basis, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Prepare and post daily job cost entries for equipment day rates, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
  • Prepare and post direct job cost entries, maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Assist with monthly financial reporting, providing timely and accurate information to stakeholders.
  • Participate in various audits throughout the year, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions, ensuring accurate and timely decision-making.
  • Must be able to function in a challenging environment with changing priorities, adapting to new situations and requirements.
  • Must participate in and share ideas for change, innovation, and improvement of team output, contributing to a collaborative and dynamic work environment.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents, such as general ledgers, bid specification details, accounting rules, operating and fiscal management manuals, procedure manuals, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality concerning people and financial issues, ensuring the integrity and security of company information.
Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Bachelor's Degree in accounting or related business field of study.
  • Minimum of 5 years of general accounting experience, with a strong background in financial analysis, reconciliation, and reporting.
