Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare items for transport, ensuring protection against damage.
  • Carefully pack and unpack belongings to prevent breakage.
  • Load and unload items from moving vehicles efficiently.
  • Follow instructions from team leaders and clients regarding item placement.
  • Address client inquiries and concerns with professionalism.
  • Assist with minor handyman tasks as required.
  • Manage supplies and inventory, including loading and unloading from company vehicles.
  • Deliver items from various sources to designated locations.
  • Document any issues with items, providing necessary details and photographs.
  • Exemplify The Downsizers' core values and culture in all interactions.
  • Deliver exceptional service to clients and partners.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a passion for assisting older adults and individuals in transition. This role encompasses a variety of tasks, often involving moving items to local communities and family members.

We seek individuals who are reliable, patient, and efficient. As you may encounter clients during stressful transitions, being receptive to feedback while maintaining efficiency is crucial.

Successful candidates will possess a positive demeanor, strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a willingness to assist wherever needed. Adaptability, teamwork, and comfort with technology are essential in our fast-paced environment.

Additional Requirements:

  • Physical capability to lift and move heavy items (up to 75 pounds) regularly.
  • Experience with loading moving trucks is preferred.
  • Availability for scheduling between standard business hours.
  • Proficiency with smartphone applications for scheduling and reporting.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to operate an 18' moving truck.
  • Fluency in English is required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is necessary.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States is mandatory.
  • Must pass a background check without exceptions.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer flexible scheduling, opportunities for tips, paid training, and a 401(k) plan with matching contributions. Our team enjoys paid volunteer opportunities and team events, with compensation ranging from $22 to $28 per hour, plus tips, based on experience.
