Advocate for and implement safety protocols within the workplace, striving to maintain an accident-free environment. Utilize and maintain equipment safely and responsibly, and handle chemicals in a manner that minimizes waste and prevents accidents. Conduct various cleaning operations, including emergency room cleanups, summer event preparations, specialized floor and carpet maintenance, winter break cleaning, and weekend assignments, with a keen attention to detail. Report any necessary repairs and instances of property damage. Ensure workspaces are left tidy and organized, including all custodial equipment, storage areas, and break rooms. Complete visual and written inspections accurately as required. Ensure quality control documentation and work orders are filled out correctly and submitted promptly. Manage supply orders to maintain an accurate inventory. Keep detailed records and complete all necessary paperwork related to accidents, attendance, and both scheduled and unscheduled leave. Oversee, mentor, and train staff to perform their duties with consistent accuracy. Assume supervisory responsibilities in the absence of the primary supervisor.

Desired Qualifications

Demonstrated ability to instruct and oversee a large team of custodians. Committed to following and enforcing all policies and regulations established by the Housing Department and Texas Tech University. Capability to perform physically demanding tasks for extended durations.
