Job Title: Staff Accountant

Key Responsibilities:
  • Validate and coordinate payroll reconciliations to ensure timely and accurate payment to employees.
  • Oversee Account Payable activity, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Assist with cashiering activities as needed, maintaining a high level of customer service.
  • Collaborate with various departments to maintain accurate records, analyze financial data, and support overall financial goals.
  • Participate in reconciliation activities related to room charges, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
  • Support the Complex Director of Finance in month-end activities, ensuring timely completion of tasks.
  • Ensure proper internal controls are in place, monitoring and testing as directed.
  • Support management with new implementations and improvement programs, driving business growth and efficiency.
  • Take minutes and prepare action plans based on quarterly balance sheet reviews, ensuring timely implementation of recommendations.
  • Uphold all company and industry standards pertaining to PCI compliance, guest/financial/payroll confidentiality, and accounting.
  • Perform ad hoc accounting activities in support of operations, delivering high-quality results under pressure.
  • Take over cashiering responsibilities when the Accounting Generalist is out of the office, ensuring seamless service.
  • Assist in the preparation and distribution of reports generated by the department, providing timely insights to management.
  • Obtain data and information necessary to assist in responding to inquiries, ensuring accurate and timely responses.
  • Answer incoming phone calls, directing calls to the appropriate department as needed.
  • Assist in the completion of special projects as assigned by the Complex Director of Finance, driving business growth and efficiency.
  • Assist in the performance of monthly, quarterly, and annual inventories, ensuring accurate and timely completion.
  • Regular attendance and adaptability to varying schedules to reflect business needs are essential.
  • Required to attend all training sessions and meetings, staying up-to-date with company policies and procedures.
Requirements:
  • Ability to communicate clearly, timely, and accurately, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment, collaborating with various departments to achieve common goals.
  • Ability to work independently in a time-sensitive environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, handling sensitive financial and guest information with discretion.
  • Ability to develop and maintain cooperative working relationships, building strong partnerships with colleagues and management.
  • Ability to organize workload, adapt quickly to change, and deliver under the pressure of deadlines.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and precision in financial records and reports.
  • Proficient in Windows, Excel, and Word software applications, with the ability to learn new computer applications quickly.
  • Strong computer skills and ability to learn new computer applications, staying up-to-date with the latest technology.
  • General knowledge of mathematics and accounting principles, with a strong understanding of financial concepts and practices.

Education: High School Diploma. Associate degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Hospitality, or other business-related field of study is preferred.

Experience: One+ years of experience in Hospitality Accounting is preferred.
