About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and talented Deputy Office Director to lead our Austin office and drive the success of our transportation planning and design team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for building and growing a talented team of professionals, fostering a positive culture, and delivering high-quality projects that transform communities into healthier and more vibrant places to live, work, and play.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and grow a team of transportation planners, engineers, and urban designers
  • Foster a positive culture and healthy morale while maintaining a productive work environment
  • Manage, mentor, and recruit new staff to ensure the success of the team
  • Pursue and win work that has a positive impact on communities
  • Oversee staff and project performance to ensure high-quality deliverables
  • Collaborate with other offices in the U.S. to deliver projects that meet the needs of all people, regardless of age, ability, race, or gender

Requirements
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in transportation planning and design
  • Experience building teams and managing staff
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • A strong interest in multimodal and active transportation design
