About the Role

The University of Texas at Austin is seeking an Executive Deputy Director to support the Director and Associate Vice President for Research. This role involves collaborating with faculty, managing strategic initiatives in computational medicine, and contributing to development efforts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Director in faculty hiring, including defining processes, collaborating with colleges and departments, and overseeing search committee processes.
  • Support the Director in the Institute's strategic initiative in computational medicine, including research, education, outreach, development, and innovation efforts.
  • Assist the Director in development efforts related to strategic initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as needed to support Institute strategic initiatives.
Requirements
  • Master's degree + two years of related experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to work closely with senior leadership and manage relationships with various stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with higher education institutions, including an understanding of academic and administrative functions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • PhD in Education or a related field.
  • 10+ years' experience in leadership or administrative roles with a strong background in strategic planning.
  • 10+ years' experience in higher education.
Working Conditions
  • The position is based at the UT Austin campus and requires the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • The role may involve extended hours, including evenings and weekends, to meet deadlines or attend events.
