Job Overview

Position Details:

Type: Full-time, 40 hours per week
Compensation: $31.60 to $45.74 per hour
Status: Non-exempt


Key Responsibilities:
  1. Supervision: Oversee and direct work activities for the utilities crew, often collaborating directly on-site.
  2. Planning and Implementation: Assist in the organization and execution of work orders, ensuring quality service in water and sewer operations.
  3. Training: Facilitate training for team members in maintenance, construction, and repair tasks related to public works.
  4. Inspection: Regularly inspect and repair essential facilities, including pumping stations and water mains, to ensure optimal functionality.
  5. Record Keeping: Maintain comprehensive records of inspections, maintenance activities, and water supply metrics.
  6. Safety Compliance: Identify and address safety hazards and equipment issues promptly.
  7. Equipment Operation: Operate various construction and maintenance machinery, including backhoes and jet trucks.
  8. Inventory Management: Keep track of materials and parts necessary for system operations.
  9. Hands-On Labor: Participate in construction and maintenance tasks, including excavation and repairs.
  10. Emergency Response: Be available for emergency situations and participate in snow removal operations.

Qualifications:

Applicants should possess considerable knowledge of construction and maintenance methods for water and wastewater systems, along with safety protocols. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, supplemented by relevant coursework. Candidates should have at least four years of progressive experience in utility operations and maintenance. Valid certifications in Wastewater Collection and Water Distribution are essential.
