- Compliance Auditing: Audit foreclosure recommendation files to ensure documents meet CFPB, State, and Investor regulations.
- Regulatory Communication: Prepare and mail regulatory letters on each file and update appropriate system information accordingly.
- Document Management: Request and manage original documents to prepare foreclosure referral virtual files.
- Issue Resolution: Follow up on outstanding issues to ensure foreclosure referral decision process is completed timely and in accordance with CFPB, federal, state, local, and Investor regulations and guidelines.
- Borrower Communication: Identify applicable options and communicate updates to managers, teammates, and borrowers, as needed.
- Issue Resolution: Maintain regular communications with borrowers; explore, analyze, and respond to issues and concerns via phone, email, and mail.
- Documentation: Provide accurate and complete information to resolve issues and follow up on any outstanding issues or commitments promptly.
- Call Notes and Documentation: Prepare complete and accurate call notes, written documentation, etc. to update customer files in system.
- Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with individuals and teams to ensure high-quality, timely response, and resolution to issues.
- Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits, and compile pre- and post-findings to investors, including CFPB.
- Process Improvement: Participate in activities and projects designed to improve foreclosure referral business performance and processes.
- Regulatory Updates: Identify and stay current on changes in industry regulations, and recommend updates to internal policies, procedures, policies, and systems based on new/changed requirements.
- Procedure Manual Maintenance: Maintain and update procedure manual to ensure internal procedures comply with investor and regulatory requirements.
- Problem Resolution: Analyze and make recommendations to resolve problems using sound judgment, expertise, and experience to create positive outcomes.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; college courses or a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or a related field preferred.
- Experience: Three or more years total back-office mortgage servicing experience required, with at least two years working in loss mitigation roles emphasizing home retention for FHA and VHA borrowers.
- Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, and VA mortgage loan documents, including overall processes and inter-relationships, standards and requirements, terminology, compliance, and regulatory requirements related to federal debt collection laws, Federal Bankruptcy Laws, and proper handling of other legal situations.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills, highly organized and detail-oriented, ability to work in a fast-paced, department-metrics-driven environment required.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with basic internet searches, data entry, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook required.
- Software Familiarity: Familiarity with document retention software; Blitzdoc preferred.
- Supervision: Moderate to intermittent supervision required, depending on experience level.
- Independent Judgment: Moderate level of independent judgment and decision-making.
- Travel: 0% travel required.
