Position Overview

As a Site Operations Manager, you will:
  • Develop and uphold effective management, planning, and cost control systems in collaboration with the project team.
  • Be present on-site daily to oversee project activities.
  • Supervise an Assistant who will report directly to you.
  • Collaborate closely with the Project Manager to ensure timely and budget-conscious project completion.
  • Review and authorize residential construction operation plans, change order requests, and payment applications.
  • Provide monthly financial forecasts for all projects, including internal general conditions costs.
  • Assess contingency plans for potential challenges related to labor, weather, and other unforeseen events.
  • Monitor and report on all project expenditures.
  • Identify and analyze risks that may affect project outcomes.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of subcontract agreements, purchase order terms, and sub-consultant contracts.
  • Offer support and guidance to project personnel.
  • Facilitate effective communication between the team and subcontractors to ensure timely and accurate information flow.
  • Prepare and distribute monthly status reports to keep management updated on construction progress, direct and indirect costs, and other project-related activities.

Candidate Profile
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years in a similar role, showcasing a successful history in managing both residential and commercial construction projects.
  • Technical Expertise: Profound knowledge of construction practices, materials, and legal requirements, along with familiarity with building codes and standards.
  • Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field. A combination of relevant education and extensive work experience will also be considered.
  • Certifications: OSHA 30-Hour certification is highly preferred. Additional project management certifications (e.g., PMP) or construction safety credentials are advantageous.
  • Software Skills: Proficient in construction management software such as Procore, Buildertrend, or similar tools, along with competence in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Project).
  • Leadership Qualities: Demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams effectively, with strong decision-making capabilities and a track record of mentoring junior staff.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing potential issues.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of effectively engaging with clients, subcontractors, and team members.
  • Organizational Skills: Exceptional organizational abilities with the capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks efficiently.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to work on-site, which may involve exposure to various weather conditions and the physical capability to perform tasks such as lifting, standing, and walking for extended periods.
