Job Overview

Position Objective: To execute maintenance and testing on T56/501 customer engines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Remove and install engines on the test stand.
  • Operate the engine test cell to finalize engine testing.
  • Diagnose issues utilizing necessary manuals.
  • Support the Test Stand Supervisor during engine testing procedures.
  • Train to independently manage the test cell operations.
  • Maintain test stand equipment and tools in optimal working condition.
  • Conduct regular checks and calibrations on specialized tools and testing equipment, ensuring accurate records are kept.
  • Handle all engines and components with care within the Test Facility.
  • Keep the Test Facility clean and organized.
  • Complete necessary documentation and approve relevant operations.
  • Utilize a forklift for moving engines and modules.
  • Perform daily inspections for Foreign Object Debris (FOD).
  • Adhere to the production schedule as directed by the Production Coordinator.
  • Travel as necessary.
  • Collaborate with management to suggest improvements in methods and procedures for departmental efficiency.
  • Participate in all required safety and health training promptly.
  • Adhere to the company attendance policy and work overtime as needed.
  • Follow all safety protocols and personal policies.
  • Execute additional duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Willingness to work overtime and/or second shifts as needed.
  • Proficient in using large specialty tools, including torque wrenches and hydraulic presses.
  • Able to gather necessary information from FARs, bulletins, and maintenance manuals.
  • Familiarity with engine component inspection techniques and tools.
  • Knowledgeable in precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers.
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and supervisors.
  • Capable of working independently and taking initiative.
  • Ability to apply knowledge to resolve problems effectively.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and communicating in English.
  • Skilled in company-specific software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Mathematical proficiency for calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages.
  • Compliance with OSHA standards and ability to wear required PPE.
  • Physical capability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly.
  • Good hearing ability to detect running machinery.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination.
  • Regularly able to perform physical tasks such as bending, twisting, and standing.
  • Ability to provide proof of U.S. citizenship or permanent residency for compliance with ITAR/EAR regulations.

Experience and Education:

A High School diploma or GED is required, along with a minimum of 2 years of mechanical experience, particularly in troubleshooting engines and equipment. Previous experience with engine test cells is preferred. Candidates must pass required eye exams and a pre-employment drug screening.

Work Environment:

Work may involve exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, and vibrations, with noise levels typically being loud. Some tasks may require outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
